The Mini-Skool Difference
We are committed to empowering your children to be the best that they can be – now and in the future.
We deliver high quality early years education via an empowerment learning model that enables children to reach their full potential through a passionate love of learning.
The Mini-Skool methodology focuses on people, place, programs, partnerships and pledge.
Our educators are the backbone of Mini-Skool. They are passionate in their drive to educate and inspire young minds to grow to their full potential and capability.
We value our people. We cherish their strengths, help to support their weaknesses and put time and energy into growing them to be the best educators that they can possibly be.
We do this by investing in quality training and professional development as well as supporting them every day with love and care.
Our programs embrace the Emergent Curriculum, focusing on the interests of the children, coupled with other leading philosophies such as Reggio Emilia and the Early Years Learning Framework. We incorporate both structured and spontaneous learning experiences throughout our daily program, taking into account all the children’s likes, dislikes and areas of interest to provide an engaging daily program. Our daily program also fosters Vygotsky’s theory of social development, encouraging opportunities for social learning each and every day.
With a special focus on school readiness, we encourage each child to reach their maximum potential at their own pace with the aim of achieving advanced standing upon their entry to school.
Each program has a higher ratio than other centres of educators to children. By incorporating permanent staffing in each room, children can build strong and supportive relationships with their room educators; allowing them to develop in a safe and familiar environment.
Our educators are always engaging and responsive to the children. The strong bond between children and educators is the core of our learning and developmental programme. Throughout the day we actively listen to the children’s ideas, observe their play and engage in interaction and conversation with them.
This freedom and flexibility allow our educators to respond meaningfully to the needs, interests, abilities and strengths of the whole child.
At Mini-Skool, we believe in building strong partnerships with our families and the broader community. It forms part of our philosophy.
We work in partnership with families to gain knowledge about their children’s strengths and interests. We promote open-ended conversation with families via our daily communication system. This helps to guide our programs, evaluations and daily reflections. This is how we are able to meet the unique needs of each and every one of our families.
We know the children in our care. We interact, share knowledge, build on ideas and decisions, listen to and respond with care and empathy to all children. We spend quality and meaningful time engaging and scaffolding the children’s learning. We help children to stay curious by providing means for them to learn about the wider world together and become confident global citizens.
