Empowering Our Children

If we empower our children, we empower ourselves. If we position ourselves as the secure basis of your child’s self-environment, they are secure enough to build upon a core foundation.

All kids have power: thinking power, imagination power, body power; they can use these powers to change their circumstances. Theresa Robbins, “Empowering Your Child to Succeed in School” (2016) .

A child who is nurtured in self-belief, encouraged to take healthy risks and has their efforts supported via positive affirmation and respect will grow into their capabilities.

Harnessing Your Child’s Power

At Mini-Skool, we program, plan and design learning with individual empowerment in mind. We use a strengths-based approach to fuel our curriculum and we pride ourselves in the creation of learning environments that inspire learning. This means that we are teaching the whole child and providing each individual in our care with learning experiences and challenges that meet and build upon their needs.

We empower children in play, through learning. This helps their development, their growing relationships with other people and the environment and their place in society. Each child at Mini-Skool is included, supported, safe and secure. Our children believe in themselves and they develop the resilience to know that they can navigate situations with the support and security of a ‘soft place to fall’ if they need to begin again.

Curriculum Focus

Here is how we are different from other childcare in Croydon options.

It is our priority to let children learn:

  • Patience
  • Responsibility
  • To care
  • Respect
  • To lead
  • To be grateful
  • To make decisions
  • To accept consequences
  • To self-care
  • To be self-sufficient
  • To follow their interests and passions

Empowerment is a lifelong journey that assists all of us to be the best that we can be. It’s the development of healthy growth mindsets that see us through challenges at school and work as well as in our social and emotional development.

It’s about shaping attitudes of mind to be constructive, proactive and compassionate.
